Dune and Carol attended the E-Law Conference in Eugene, Oregon in the first weekend of March 2000, where they networked with friends and activists around the country about the state of the forests. They met with Tim Hermach (Native Forest Council), Soren Wuerth (Wild Voices, AK) and other activists friends - Heather, Ryan, Wes, Megan, et al. Dune and Carol, along with Scott Anaya (National Wildlife Federation) and gave presentations about the situation in the Copper River Delta. Julia Butterfly was the keynote speaker and was stupendous! Meanwhile, outside the conference, protests were taking place.
In May 1999, Dune attended the International Forestry Forum in Geneva with Dr. Rick Steiner and David Grimes.
